Honoring Eldest Master Leonard

I had the honor of attending the funeral and memorial service of Eldest Master Bill Leonard along with my teacher Elder Master Joe Schaefer and several of my Texas colleagues and many, many other Shaolin-Do Master and students to pay final respects to Eldest Master Bill Leonard. He was Grandmaster Sin’s longest standing student, and is the only American to attain Eldest Master, the 10th degree black belt rank. Grandmaster Sin called Eldest Master Leonard the best fighter in our system, and the toughest individual he has ever met. He taught my teacher, Elder Master Joe, for 30 plus years. To say Eldest Master Leonard is a Legendary pillar in Shaolin-Do is an understatement. His tireless dedication to the art, unwavering loyalty, diehard spirit, and steadfast commitment were Eldest Master Leonard’s gift and life lessons to Shaolin-Do and it’s students. He was and remains a true inspiration to me and a beacon light to all those who train in the art. I thank and bow to you with humble gratitude for everything you’ve given, Eldest Master Leonard. May you rest in peace.
